Vinyl Theatre’s previous website was built with an off-the-shelf ThemeForest theme using Elementor. It was bloated with animation libraries, 20+ bundled required plugins, slow, and needed constant manual updates every time new music or merch was released.
The redesign objective focused on completely overhauling the site, enhancing performance, and establishing an automated system requiring minimal ongoing management.
The rebuild included a comprehensive visual and structural redesign with performance-first principles, custom Spotify integration that automatically displays latest releases and discography, Shopify merchandise synchronization via products.json, and a modular custom plugin architecture for data fetching, caching, and dynamic components.
Performance was treated as a first-class requirement from the start, not something to be fixed later. The modernized stack replaced heavy Elementor implementation with Bricks Builder, Automatic.css, WPCodeBox, Breeze caching, and Object Cache Pro, delivering faster load times and improved Core Web Vitals.
The final result eliminated manual content updates for new releases, streamlined the admin interface, and achieved approximately 99% performance scoring according to DebugBear.
